2025 Recap

The year 2025 flew by at such a pace that updating this website was left behind. Let’s try to keep the site more active in 2026 as well.

I still wanted to gather here the events of 2025, as much as I can remember.

The year started on a positive note when I bought a new motorcycle. Of course, it had to be a KTM 690 Enduro R, this time a 2017 model. The bike was fully equipped, from a navigation tower to auxiliary fuel tanks. I had been looking at different nav towers for a long time, but the prices for new ones are quite steep, so it made more sense to buy a bike that already had one installed.

The old 690 was converted into an A2 bike and turned into a supermoto, which is now ridden by my eldest child.

I also picked up camping gear and Mosko Moto Reckless V40 luggage. The plan was to head to the AT Rally to test the setup, but unfortunately COVID hit me for the first time. The trip was cancelled, and the tent still hasn’t even been taken out of its bag to this day.

MAD was also strongly on the agenda in the summer of 2025, and we attended the Scout Days in June.

In July, we rode the Tyrnävä Rynkytykset, and there’s a nice video from that event on the channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeXF8W-YIYNY6If1OvkSehQ

At the beginning of August, I had the worst crash I’ve experienced so far on a motorcycle. I was riding on a forest road and didn’t notice a fallen tree across the road in time. It wouldn’t have been a problem if the tree had been lying flat on the ground, but since it was about 30 cm off the ground, I ended up going over the handlebars and fracturing the three lowest vertebrae in my spine.

After getting home from the hospital, the bike was patched back together. Attending the MAD event was very uncertain since only two weeks had passed since the crash. In the end, I still went along after we agreed that I could focus more on filming and act as a sweeper on easier routes, instead of leading the red routes. Those have a higher risk of crashing, which I wanted to avoid.

MAD went really well, and videos from the event can be found on the YouTube channel.

While riding home from MAD, I noticed that my knee was extremely painful. It turned out to be bacterial bursitis. This meant two weeks of antibiotics, both orally and intravenously, and the bursa had to be drained. Even now, the bursa is still larger than on the other leg, but it doesn’t hurt during normal use, which is the most important thing.

A few other rides also fit into the autumn, such as the 7 Bridges Rynkytykset and a joint season-ending event, where an ambulance was needed there as well. A video from that event will be coming to the channel soon.

In December, I had the suspension serviced at TTM Factory. The suspension was re-shimmed, a stiffer spring was installed in the front, and more. Riding in winter conditions makes it hard to say how much the bike has changed, but spring is approaching fast, and that’s when it can really be tested properly.

Now it’s time to get serious about updating the site again. Wishing everyone a very happy new year! 🎉
